STUDENT ARRIVAL
Each teacher has a designated entrance where he or she will enter.
Student Drop-off
Please do not bring your student to school before 7:45 am. All students enter through the front door on the North side of the building.
Bus Riders
Students will remain on the bus until a staff member is present to pick them up. Students enter through the front door on the North side of the building.
Late Arrivals
Please ring the doorbell at the front entrance of the building.
Breakfast and Lunch
Breakfast will be served from 7:45 am - 8:00 am in the cafeteria. Lunch times are as follows:
- Kindergarten - 10:45 am - 11:15 am
- 1st Grade - 11:00 am - 11:30 am
- 2nd Grade - 11:20 am - 11:50 am
- 3rd Grade - 11:35 am - 12:05 pm
- 4th Grade - 12:25 pm - 12:55 pm
- 5th Grade - 11:50 am - 12:20 pm
Procedural Traffic Flow
Parents/guardians dropping off students or picking up will enter 4th street and immediately turn right. This will start the line to the front of the school. Students will be dropped off before the sidewalk. The parking lot is only designed for 1 lane. Vehicles are not permitted to drive as if there are double lanes. Vehicles are not permitted to park on the crosswalk. After dropping off or picking up students, cars will follow the path parallel to the fence and exit on 4th street. Vehicles are not permitted to park at the Boys & Girls Club and then to send students across the street.
Parents/guardians may park in the Parent Parking area and escort their children to the crosswalk. Enter the parking lot from 4th Street and go directly to the parent parking area. Walk your child to the crosswalk. Wait for a staff member to allow students to cross the street. Parents/guardians then exit the parking lot by following the one-way (east) direction to exit the parking lot. Students are not allowed to walk from the parent parking area to the crosswalk without an adult.
Daycare vans only - there is a designated space for daycare vans to park behind the cafeteria to pick up and drop off students. Parents/guardians are not permitted to drive to the cafeteria area parking.
Buses only - there is a designated space for buses to drop off and pick up students off of Dale Scott Avenue. Parents/guardians are not permitted to use this space.
DISMISSAL PROCEDURES
Students will use designated exits in an effort to decrease student traffic.
Student Pick-up
Release times are Monday & Tuesday / Thursday & Friday at 3:00 pm and Wednesday at 1:00 pm. Students being picked up by parents will be in the front of the building near the Parent pick up lane. Teachers will release students to their parents/guardian as parents pull around the parent pick up loop.
If you are late, you will need to pick up your student at the front office.
Bus Riders
Students will be walked to their bus. In the event of inclement weather, students will wait in the classroom until the bus arrives.
Early Sign-Out
If you need to sign your student out early, call the front office (575-812-5900) before arriving at the building. Once you arrive, ring the doorbell, and a staff member will check your ID before releasing the student. If the ID holder is NOT on the contact list, the student will NOT be released. Please ensure that contact and emergency information has been updated on PowerSchool.
